Maker: Malcolm Wright
Stunning 9" by 9" diameter vase by noted American ceramic artist Malcolm Wright, featuring his characteristic Karatsu foliate decorations with an overall Shino glaze. When Malcolm and his wife returned from apprenticing in Japan with Nakazato in 1970, they established the Turnpike Road Pottery in Vermont. Wright has exhibited in galleries and museums internationally and his pottery is in the permanent collections of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Denver Museum of Art and the Idemistu Museum.
